Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris, born on the 20th of October 1964 is an American politician and lawyer. She is currently the 49th vice president of the United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first vice president to be female and the highest-ranking female politician in U.S. history, as being the first African American and first Asian American vice president. As a member of the Democratic Party, she has been attorney general of California from 2011 to 2017 and was the state's attorney general from 2011 to 2017 and as a United States senator representing California from 2011 to 2021. Harris was born and raised in Oakland, California. Harris began her career with the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Harris was later recruited to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003 she was elected San Francisco District Attorney. In 2010, Harris was elected Attorney General of California. She was re-elected in 2014. Harris was the junior United States senator from California from 2017 until 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election to become the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who fought for health care and federal de-scheduling of cannabis. A pathway to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. Her sharp questioning of Trump officials during Senate hearings has earned her national attention, which included the second Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh who was indicted with sexual assault.
