Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born March 10 1949. She is an American investor and speaker as well as consultant. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company shortly thereafter. Corcoran is among ABC's initial Shark Tank investors. To date she has appeared in every 12 season of Shark Tank. She has been involved in 53 deals since February, 2020. The largest was a $350,000 investment to provide 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second in a family of 10 kids, and was raised in Edgewater. Florence was her mother. She was an excellent household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He moved from one job to the next throughout Corcoran's youth. Sometimes, her family relied upon free food delivery from a local, friendly grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father as a man who occasionally consumed too much alcohol and treated her mother with disrespect and sneer, especially when he was drinking. Corcoran was a struggle in school and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran was a student at the local Catholic elementary school and started high school at St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite not completing several classes in her freshman years.
